Bare Knuckle Boxer branded ‘most dominant athlete in all of sport’ above Canelo Alvarez and Max Holloway

Chael Sonnen has touted former UFC welterweight, Mike Perry, as the most interesting story in sports and questioned whether he is the most dominant, following his win at Knuckle Mania 4 this past weekend.

‘Platinum’ Mike Perry – who fought for the final time in the UFC three years ago – has found incredible success in Bare Knuckle Boxing, where he has now won five fights in a row.

During his BKFC tenure, the 32-year-old has fought and beat several former MMA champions, including Eddie Alvarez, Luke Rockhold, and Michael ‘Venom’ Page.

This past Saturday, ‘Platinum’ beat Thiago Alves – former UFC welterweight – knocking him out in the first round.

Conor McGregor buys ownership in BKFC

The promotion announced at their annual Knuckle Mania event this past weekend, that Conor McGregor has become part-owner of the promotion with his sports entertainment business, McGregor Sports and Entertainment.

Following his win over Thiago Alves, Mike Perry displayed his gratitude for the Irishman simply thanking him for bringing his name over to the BKFC brand.

“I mean he’s the biggest combat sports star in history probably. Nobody moves the needle like him and the Irish fans. He’s just done remarkable things.” Perry said in the post-fight press conference.

This wasn’t the first time ‘The Notorious’ has been involved at a BKFC event though.

Last April at BKFC 41 – when Perry beat Luke Rockhold in round two – Conor McGregor entered the ring and faced off with Mike Perry, much to the fans’ surprise.

Perry believed that a fight between him and the former two-weight UFC champion could come to fruition following the faceoff, but now McGregor is involved with the promotion in an entirely different way.

Chael Sonnen brands Mike Perry as the ‘most dominant athlete in all sports’

Despite an average UFC career where he went 7-8, Perry has clearly found his lane with Bare Knuckle Boxing, becoming the face of BKFC over his two years with them.

UFC analyst, Chael Sonnen, has branded Mike Perry as the ‘most interesting’ story in sports following his recent successes.

“Georges St-Pierre needed 25 minutes and three judges to beat Alves, Mike Perry needed one hook.” Sonnen said in his recent YouTube video.

“He can’t go any further, he’s number one. He is possibly the most dominant athlete of any sport right now, it’s a fascinating story.” Chael added.

Following his dominant win on Saturday, ‘Platinum’ Perry called for a fight with Darren Till and the two have previously been rumored to fight each other. The 32-year-old claimed in an interview on the MMA Hour earlier this month, that Darren Till turned down $2m to fight him in BKFC.

The scouser has since responded to Perry’s callout, “F****** bum. I am going to destroy this man when we finally meet. He’s been fighting old slow s***ty dopes.” Till said on his Instagram story.

Till confirmed recently that his next fight will be in the influencer boxing space, and it will be announced soon.
