Lawmakers in Carolinas, Georgia react to airline tragedy in Washington
GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Lawmakers from South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia are extending their condolences in the aftermath of the worst aviation disaster in a generation.
NTSB is investigating after an Army Blackhawk helicopter collided mid-air with a jetliner carrying 64 passengers and crew members. No one survived the crash over the Potomac River on Wednesday night.

It’s expected that more than 60 individuals were on board and recovery efforts are still ongoing. We grieve with such a dramatic and tragic incident that has claimed multiple lives. We particularly pray a prayer of comfort for the family members of these victims who woke up this morning with pain and many questions. And we also want to show appreciation for the quick response and bravery from all law enforcement, medical, and military folks from multiple jurisdictions who reacted immediately to the scene to help with rescue and recovery efforts.”
