* WHAT...South winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 40 mph expected.

* WHERE...All of northern Alabama and southern middle Tennessee.

* WHEN...From 7 AM Saturday to 1 AM CDT Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high
profile vehicles. Use extra caution. Secure outdoor objects.

It is important to have multiple ways to get warnings in advance of
and during severe weather in case power outages occur!

...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SATURDAY MORNING THROUGH LATE SATURDAY
NIGHT...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
Widespread rainfall totals of 3 to 5 inches, with localized higher
amounts over 7 inches.

* WHERE...All of northern Alabama and southern middle Tennessee.

* WHEN...From 7 AM Saturday through 1 AM Sunday.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur
in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Several rounds of thunderstorms will result in widespread
rainfall totals of 3 to 5 inches, with localized higher
amounts over 7 inches.

North Alabama volunteer to receive honor from Korean War Veterans Memorial Foundation

The Korean War Veterans Memorial Foundation selected KC Bertling as one of four honorees to be recognized at their first ever honors banquet in Washington, DC later this month.

KC and her husband Sam have devoted their lives since 2006 to honoring Korean War Veterans through the Legacy 4 Korean War Veterans Foundation (L4KWVF) as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. She goes out of her way to honor our veterans in all she does, especially those who served in Korea. Bertling gives a voice to others who may not otherwise have one and encourages community members to invest in giving back to our veterans and their families.

The Foundation’s Honors Banquet recognizes U.S. Honorees and Supporters who have made contributions to supporting Korean War Veterans and their Families.

The gala event will take place Friday, March 21, 2025 at the historic Mayflower Hotel in our nation's capital.
