A CUMBRIAN band is set to perform at a Carlisle music venue.

The Maybe Band will be performing at The Brickyard on Friday, March 21.

Tickets cost between £7 and £10 and are available on the Fatsoma website.

The group is based in Penrith and plays anything from rock n roll to modern hits.

The Maybe Band also plays some of their original material and is known for their 'upbeat' and 'energy-packed' live performances.

A member of the band said: "After the five of us met in our local school, brought together by our love of music and anything creative, the decision was made to form a simple and fun garage band.

"This quickly snowballed into becoming a local sensation playing multiple local events including (but not limited to): The Penrith Winter Droving, The Feel Good Festival in Glassonby, Kendal Ski Clubs' end-of-season party (leading us to get asked back to many other events associated with the ski club), multiple events in our college and our very own sell-out independent performance in Skeltons' village hall pulling in over 150 people and maxing out the venue.

"We are also booked to play the main stage at this year's May Day in Penrith.

"After gigging regularly for the last year we have decided to branch out and book our dream venue, the Brickyard.

"Playing the Brickyard has always been a goal for us because of its prestige in the local area.

"Performing with us will be our friends' First Edition who will be doing the difficult job of opening for us and providing an amazing atmosphere for the night.

"Three of the members are also raising money for a once-in-a-lifetime conservational trip to Madagascar with the conservational company Operation Wallacea, where their split of the takings will be directed."
