2 people killed when plane crashes off runway at airport in Greenville, SC

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WLOS) - Authorities are investigating a plane crash at Greenville Downtown Airport.

Greenville County Coroner’s Office said two died in the crash -- one died at the scene and another at the hospital. Two others were transported to the hospital, but the extent of their injuries is not known.

The plane, a Falcon 50, ran off the end of Runway 19 about 1:45 p.m. Thursday and crashed on Airport Road, FAA officials said. The FAA and NTSB are investigating.

Greeville police, Greenville County Fire Department and EMS are on scene.

The plane is registered to Global Aircraft Acquisitions LLC, a company based in Lewes, Delaware.
